Two Swedish journalists, Martin Schibbye and Johan Persson, enter the Ogaden region of Ethiopia illegally to report on the local effects of oil exploration. Shortly after arriving, they are captured by the Ethiopian army. The men are subsequently tried and sentenced to eleven years in prison on terrorism charges. While incarcerated alongside other political prisoners and writers, their initial mission evolves into a struggle for survival and a broader confrontation with state propaganda and global politics.
Directed by Jesper Ganslandt, this production followed his 2018 film Beast of Burden. The drama stars Gustaf Skarsgård and Matias Varela in the lead roles, supported by a credited cast of 34 actors. Produced in Sweden by Film i Väst, SVT, and Miso Film Sverige, the film has a runtime of 124 minutes.
Audience reception has been generally positive. On IMDb, the movie holds a 6.7 rating based on 3,800 votes, while on TMDB, it has a higher score of 7.1 from 86 votes.
