Seobok (2021) is a Korean science fiction thriller about a former intelligence agent, Ki-heon, who is pulled back into service for one more assignment: moving the world's first human clone to a secure location. The clone, Seobok, carries the genetic key to eternal life, which makes him valuable to powerful parties with their own plans for him. When the operation is ambushed, Ki-heon has to complete the mission on his own while his sheltered charge begins to experience the outside world for the first time.
The film was directed and written by Lee Yong-ju, his second feature after Architecture 101 (2012). Gong Yoo plays Ki-heon and Park Bo-gum plays Seobok, with Jo Woo-jin, Jang Young-nam, Park Byung-eun and Kim Jae-geon in supporting roles. It was produced by Kim Kyung-min for CJ Entertainment, CJ ENM, TPS Company and STUDIO101, and runs 114 minutes.
Seobok received mixed notices from critics, whose rating of 7.1/10 sits above the 6.1/10 it holds on IMDb, while viewers on TMDB give it 7.2/10. Those figures suggest a film that drew a wide but divided audience rather than a clear consensus, with the gap between the two audience scores showing how differently the film landed across platforms.
