Christmas is approaching in Aldovia, and a royal baby is on the way for Queen Amber and King Richard. Their plans are complicated when they welcome the rulers of a distant kingdom to renew a sacred peace treaty. The centuries-old document goes missing, putting the peace between the two nations at risk, and an old family curse adds further trouble during the holiday season.
This is the third film in the Christmas Prince series, following A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding. John Schultz, who also directed that predecessor, directs from a screenplay by Nate Atkins, with Amy Krell producing. Rose McIver and Ben Lamb return as Amber and Richard, joined by Alice Krige, Honor Kneafsey, Theo Devaney and Kevin Shen among a credited cast of 24. The film runs 85 minutes.
Released in December 2019, the film drew modest audience scores, with 5.4 from around 8,800 votes on IMDb and 6.3 from about 572 votes on TMDB. Critics were less enthusiastic, giving it 3.8 from 11 reviews, a lower figure than the audience ratings suggest. That gap is consistent with a television holiday romance aimed at viewers following the series rather than at critics.
