Set in a small Kyrgyz village, this drama follows an electrician known as Svet-Ake. He supports his neighbors by maintaining power lines and occasionally manipulating meters to help those in poverty. Beyond his technical work, he serves as a source of emotional support and joy for a community struggling with the economic decline of the post-soviet era. His goal is to build a wind farm to provide the valley with electrical independence, a dream that puts him in conflict with corrupt local figures.
The film was directed by Aktan Arym Kubat, who also co-wrote the screenplay and played the lead role of Svet-Ake. The supporting cast includes Taalaikan Abazova, Askat Sulaimanov, Asan Amanov, and Stanbek Toichubaev. Produced through a collaboration between companies from Germany, Kyrgyzstan, France, and the Netherlands Antilles, the movie has a runtime of 80 minutes.
Audience reception is mixed. On IMDb, the film holds a rating of 6.5/10 based on 456 votes, while on TMDB it has a lower score of 5.1/10 from 17 votes.
