The Patriot

The Patriot is a documentary focusing on Vasily Vlasov, who entered the Russian Duma at 21 years old. As the youngest member of the parliament, Vlasov is portrayed as a self-assured individual with the potential to introduce a new perspective to the political landscape.

Directed and produced by Katja Fedulova, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Calle Overweg, the film is a joint production between Germany and Russia by ZDF and 3sat. It appears first in the chronological list of Fedulova's directed works, preceding her 2019 project regarding Kirill Serebrennikov. The 35-minute film features appearances by Vlasov himself, alongside Ekaterina Gromyko, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, and Irina Vlasova.
