Eloise at Christmastime

Eloise at Christmastime follows a six-year-old girl who lives at the Plaza Hotel in New York while her mother travels the world for work. Cared for by her nanny, Eloise has the run of the hotel and knows everyone in it, including Bill, a room service deliveryman who is her close friend. As Christmas approaches, Rachel, the hotel owner's daughter, returns to the Plaza with her fiancé Brooks to be married there. Eloise becomes convinced that Brooks is not what he seems and that Rachel would be better matched with Bill, and she sets out to bring the two together before the wedding takes place.

The film is a television adaptation of Kay Thompson's stories about the character, directed by Kevin Lima as the fourth of the five features listed for him, between 102 Dalmatians and Enchanted. Sofia Vassilieva plays Eloise, with Julie Andrews as Nanny and Gavin Creel as Bill. Elizabeth Chandler wrote the screenplay and produced alongside Thomas D. Adelman and Janet Brownell. On IMDb the film holds a 7 out of 10 from around 3,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.3 out of 10 from a much smaller group of 75 voters. The two audiences differ in size by a wide margin, and the higher, more heavily supported figure suggests the film is fondly regarded by those who seek it out.
