Brett Blackmore is a high school senior with a spotless academic record and an acceptance letter he has not yet decided he wants. The years of relentless studying have cost him a childhood, and when a prank goes wrong and his future collapses, he posts a list of everything he avoided out of fear. The film follows what happens when that list reaches an audience far beyond his own school.
Michael Duggan directed, produced and co-wrote the screenplay with Dan McDermott, and the film was released in July 2020 by Paramount and Awesomeness Films. Eli Brown plays Brett, with Madison Iseman as Kayla, Marcus Scribner as Clint, Jerry O'Connell as Jeffrey Blackmore, Natalie Zea as Kristen and Callan Mulvey as Dee among a credited cast of twenty-five. Made on a budget of five million dollars, it is a modest production built around its young leads.
Audience responses are middling rather than enthusiastic: on IMDb it holds 5.2 out of 10 from roughly 7,900 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6 out of 10 from about 519 votes. The two figures are close enough to suggest a broadly similar, lukewarm reaction from viewers across both platforms. The running time is 103 minutes.
