Land

After a traumatic loss, Edee Holzer withdraws from the life and people she once knew. She buys a remote cabin in the Rocky Mountains, intending to grieve alone, but she has brought little food and no real knowledge of how to survive there. The isolation and the coming winter prove harder than she expected, and she is found near death by a local hunter, Miguel, who nurses her back to health and teaches her practical skills for living off the land. Her recovery of a will to live is something she has to accomplish on her own.

Land is a drama directed by Robin Wright, who also plays Edee. It is the second film she directed, following House of Cards episodes and her feature debut. Erin Dignam and Jesse Chatham wrote the screenplay, and the cast includes Demián Bichir as Miguel, along with Sarah Dawn Pledge, Kim Dickens, Warren Christie and Finlay Wojtak-Hissong. The production was handled by Focus Features, Big Beach, Cinetic Media and Flashlight Films.

The film was released in February 2021 and runs 89 minutes. It earned about 2 million dollars worldwide, a modest return for a release of this kind. On TMDB it holds a 6.7 rating from 336 votes, indicating a generally favorable but not enthusiastic audience response.
