Magnificat

Set in the Middle Ages, this historical drama follows a wandering executioner who takes on an apprentice to teach him the methods of torture and capital punishment. Parallel to this, a young girl is placed in a Catholic convent by her parents. The narrative focuses on these characters and other pilgrims as they converge on a secluded convent during the events of Holy Week.
