War Arrow is a Western set in the Oklahoma territory, where Major Howell Brady arrives at Fort Clark to help end raids by Kiowa warriors against settlers. Brady proposes recruiting Seminole Indians as scouts and allies, offering food and land in return for their service, but the fort's commander, Colonel Jackson Meade, distrusts all Indians and rejects the plan. The conflict between the two officers plays out against the wider campaign, and Brady also becomes involved with Elaine Corwin, a woman believed to be a widow.
The film was directed by George Sherman and written by John Michael Hayes. It stars Jeff Chandler as Major Brady, Maureen O'Hara as Elaine Corwin, John McIntire as Colonel Meade, Suzan Ball, Noah Beery Jr. and Charles Drake. Sherman's career continued for nearly two more decades after this release, with later titles including Reprisal!, Murieta and Big Jake.
Produced by Universal International Pictures, the film runs 78 minutes and took in about 1 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.9 from around 1,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.7 from roughly two dozen votes, indicating a modest and largely muted response from viewers.
