Robin Shea is a provocative woman who seeks freedom from prison. After an unsuccessful escape attempt, she arranges a marriage with Billy Moran, a worker at the facility, to secure her release. Once free, Robin becomes involved with James Tiernan, a politician running for governor. While she navigates her relationship with the powerful Tiernan and her marriage to the simpler Billy, she also pursues her ambition to become a singer and a star.
This 1988 American production was directed by Roger Vadim, serving as a variation of his own 1956 film of the same title. It is the eighth film listed in his chronology, following Pretty Maids All in a Row. The movie stars Rebecca De Mornay, Vincent Spano, and Frank Langella. Produced by Vestron Pictures and Crow Productions, the story was written by R.J. Stewart and produced by George G. Braunstein.
