1990: The Bronx Warriors

Set in a dystopian version of 1990, the film depicts the Bronx as a no-man's-land abandoned by the authorities and controlled by violent youth gangs. Ann, a young heiress to a powerful Manhattan corporation, flees the city and takes refuge in the borough, where she becomes involved with Trash, the leader of a biker gang called the Riders. The corporation dispatches the ruthless killer Hammer to bring her back, and he sets about turning the gangs against each other. When Ann is abducted, Trash is forced into an uneasy alliance to get her back, while a police assault on the territory looms.

Enzo G. Castellari directed the film, working from a screenplay he wrote with Dardano Sacchetti and Elisa Briganti. It followed several earlier Castellari features, among them Keoma, The Inglorious Bastards and The House by the Edge of the Lake, and came before Hammerhead. The cast includes Vic Morrow as Hammer, Fred Williamson as Ogre, Mark Gregory as Trash, Christopher Connelly as Hot Dog, and Stefania Girolami Goodwin as Ann. The Italian production runs 93 minutes.

Audience response places the film at 5.2 out of 10 on IMDb from roughly 4,500 votes, and at 5 out of 10 on TMDB, where the vote count is much smaller. The two scores sit close together, indicating a modest, consistent level of approval from viewers rather than sharply divided opinion.
