Blue Story

Blue Story follows Timmy, a quiet, academically minded boy from Deptford who is sent to a school in Peckham, where he becomes close friends with Marco, a confident and street-smart local. The two come from neighbouring areas with a long-running rivalry, and their bond is tested when violence involving people close to them pushes them onto opposite sides of a conflict that claims victims rather than producing winners. The story draws on writer-director Rapman's own experiences growing up in South East London.

Rapman wrote and directed the film, his second feature after Shiro's Story Part 3 the previous year. Stephen Odubola plays Timmy and Micheal Ward plays Marco, with Khali Best, Karla-Simone Spence, Eric Kofi Abrefa and Max Fincham among the credited cast of 22. Damian Jones and Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor produced for Paramount, BBC Film, DJ Films and Joi Productions.

Made for about 2 million US dollars, the film took roughly 6 million worldwide. On IMDb it holds 6.3 out of 10 from around 9,500 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 7.3 from 249 votes. A critics' rating of 6.9 from 43 reviews places it close to the audience score on IMDb and somewhat below the smaller TMDB sample.
