Flora & Ulysses

Flora, a ten-year-old comic-book enthusiast who describes herself as a cynic, saves a squirrel and names him Ulysses. She soon discovers that the animal has unusual abilities, and the pair set off on a series of adventures that involve plenty of comic complications and end up changing how Flora sees her life. The story, drawn from Kate DiCamillo's Newbery Medal-winning book, also touches on her parents' recent separation.

Lena Khan directs from a screenplay by Brad Copeland, with Gil Netter producing for Walt Disney Pictures. Matilda Lawler plays Flora, and Alyson Hannigan and Ben Schwartz appear as Phyllis and George, with Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Danny Pudi and Darien Martin among the cast. The film runs 91 minutes and blends family adventure with comedy and fantasy.

Released in February 2021, Flora & Ulysses holds a 6.2 rating on IMDb from roughly 6,900 votes and a 6.5 on TMDB from around 271 votes. A critics' rating of 6.4 from 59 reviews places it close to how general audiences received it. It was Khan's first feature, followed by Best of the Best in 2026.
