Blood Crime

Daniel Pruitt, a stressed police officer from Seattle, takes a trip to the countryside with his wife, Jessica. The outing turns violent when Jessica is attacked in the woods. While traveling to the hospital, the couple is involved in a collision with a truck driver whom Jessica believes is her assailant. Pruitt attacks the man in a rage, but once at the emergency room, Jessica changes her identification and names a male nurse as the attacker. Pruitt soon discovers that the man he beat is the son of Sheriff Morgan McKenna and has died. As the detective and the sheriff search for the actual criminal, Pruitt becomes a suspect in the investigation.

Directed by William A. Graham, this 2002 TV movie followed his previous works Jigsaw and Return to the Blue Lagoon. The mystery thriller stars Johnathon Schaech as Pruitt and James Caan as Sheriff McKenna, with Lisa Lackey playing Jessica. Produced by Mandalay Television, the film has a runtime of 88 minutes. Audience reception was mixed, as indicated by a 5.4 rating on IMDb from 715 votes and a 5.5 rating on TMDB from 13 votes.
