Boogie

Set in Queens, New York, this drama follows Alfred Chin, a talented basketball player known as Boogie. While he aspires to reach the NBA, his parents want him to prioritize securing a scholarship to a prestigious college. As he deals with these family expectations, he must also manage his high school life, his relationship with a new girlfriend, and competition from other athletes.

The film was written and directed by Eddie Huang, marking the first of two films he has directed. The cast features Taylor Takahashi in the lead role, alongside Taylour Paige, Pop Smoke, Perry Yung, Pamelyn Chee, and Mike Moh. Produced by Focus Features and Immersive Pictures, the movie had a budget of 20 million USD but earned 4 million USD at the worldwide box office.
