Based on true events, this drama follows the efforts of Eddie Jones as he takes over as coach of Japan's national rugby team. The story centers on the conflict between Jones and rugby officials who doubt his appointment, especially as the organization still struggles with the memory of a crushing defeat against New Zealand's All Blacks during the 1995 World Cup. To change the global perception of Japanese rugby and stop the team from being ridiculed, Jones implements unconventional methods to prepare his squad for the 2015 World Cup.
The film was written and directed by Max Mannix, following his 2009 production Rain Fall. It was produced in Australia by Eastpool Films, Shogun Productions, and Syn Entertainment. The cast is led by Temuera Morrison in the role of Eddie Jones, alongside Lasarus Ratuere, Sumire Matsubara, Masa Yamaguchi, Youki Kudoh, and Yutaka Izumihara. In total, 22 actors are credited.
Produced with a budget of 7 million USD, the film has a runtime of 83 minutes. On TMDB, it holds a rating of 6.8/10 based on 8 votes.
