Spaceman

Jakub Procházka is a Czech astronaut six months into a solitary mission far from Earth. Their conversations push him to confront what has gone wrong between him and Lenka while he is still out in space.

The film is directed by Johan Renck and written by Colby Day. It is Renck's second feature, following Downloading Nancy, and draws on Jaroslav Kalfař's novel Spaceman of Bohemia. Adam Sandler plays Jakub, with Carey Mulligan as Lenka, Paul Dano voicing the creature, Hanuš, and supporting turns from Kunal Nayyar, Isabella Rossellini and Lena Olin. Production was handled by companies including Tango Entertainment, Stillking Films, Free Association and Sinestra, with Channing Tatum among the producers, on a budget of about 40 million dollars.
