A deceased soul is granted a second chance at existence after winning a celestial lottery. This soul is placed into the body of Makoto Kobayashi, a fourteen-year-old boy who recently attempted suicide. Guided by a spirit named Purapura, the protagonist must navigate Makoto's life and relationships while uncovering the major sin committed in a previous life. To successfully complete this trial before time runs out, the soul must also understand the reasons behind Makoto's decision to end his life and learn how to appreciate this new opportunity.

Based on a novel by Mori Eto, this Japanese animated drama was directed by Keiichi Hara. This 2010 production follows his work on Summer Days with Coo and precedes Miss Hokusai. The film features the voice talents of Kazato Tomizawa as Makoto Kobayashi, Akina Minami as Hiroka Kuwabara, and Aoi Miyazaki as Shoko Sano. The production was handled by SUNRISE and Ascension, with a screenplay written by Miho Maruo and a credited crew of 47 people.
