Paperman

Paperman is a short animated film set in mid-century New York, where a solitary office worker has a fleeting encounter with a young woman at a station platform. She disappears before he can speak to her, but later he spots her in a window of a building across the street from his office. Determined to get her attention, he begins folding paper airplanes and launching them toward her, an effort that takes on a life of its own. The film blends romance and fantasy with quiet comedy, running just seven minutes.

John Kahrs directed the short, with Kristina Reed producing. Kahrs also provides the voice of the main character, George, while Kari Wahlgren voices Meg; Jeff Turley and Jack Goldenberg appear in uncredited voice roles as the Boss and Finster. Walt Disney Pictures and Walt Disney Animation Studios produced the film, which was released in November 2012.

The film holds an 8.2 rating on IMDb from roughly 37,000 votes and an 8 rating on TMDB from about 1,800 votes, indicating strong approval from both large and smaller voting populations. This was an early directing credit for Kahrs, who had worked in animation before taking the helm here.
