Feels Good Man

Feels Good Man is a documentary about Matt Furie, the artist behind the comic character Pepe the Frog. Pepe began as a laid-back figure in Furie's independent comics and was adopted by internet users as a reaction image and meme. During the 2016 United States presidential election campaign, the character was taken up by the alt-right and turned into a symbol of hate, beyond Furie's control. The film follows Furie as he tries to reclaim his creation and deal with the cultural divisions that made Pepe a political emblem. It covers his work as a cartoonist and the spread of his character online.

Arthur Jones directed the film, his first feature, and shares writing credits with Aaron Wickenden and Giorgio Angelini; Wickenden, Caryn Capotosto and Angelini produced. Furie appears as himself, alongside Aiyana Udesen, Chris Sullivan, Johnny Ryan, Lisa Hanawalt and Emily Heller. Jones went on to direct The Antisocial Network: Memes to Mayhem in 2024.

The film runs 94 minutes and was released on September 4, 2020. It holds a rating of 7.5 out of 10 on IMDb from around 6,000 votes, and 7.1 out of 10 on TMDB from about 130 votes, indicating solid but not unanimous approval from viewers.
