Spree

Spree is a 2020 American comedy-crime-horror-thriller about Kurt Kunkle, a rideshare driver who has spent years chasing internet fame without success. When his videos and livestreams fail to attract the audience he wants, he turns his car into a broadcasting studio and begins putting his passengers in danger, escalating his stunts as he tries to manufacture a viral breakthrough. The film follows his attempts to convert notoriety into followers, and the gap between the fame he craves and the harm he causes.

Eugene Kotlyarenko directed and co-wrote the film with Gene McHugh; Kotlyarenko, Matthew Budman and John H. Lang produced. It was Kotlyarenko's first feature, followed by Vintage Violence in 2026. Joe Keery leads as Kurt, with David Arquette as Kris Kunkle and smaller roles filled by Joshua Ovalle, A.J. Del Cueto and Andy Faulkner among a credited cast of 34 and crew of 126. The film runs 93 minutes and was released on 14 August 2020.
