Extinct

Two donut-shaped creatures named Op and Ed accidentally travel from 1835 to modern-day Shanghai. Upon arriving in the present, they learn that their species, known as flummels, has become extinct. The pair must travel through different time periods to warn their own kind and attempt to change history to ensure their species survives.

Directed by David Silverman, this animated family comedy is the sixth of 13 films in his directorial career. It follows The Simpsons in Plusaversary and precedes Maggie Simpson in "The Force Awakens from Its Nap," both released in 2021. The voice cast features Rachel Bloom as Op and Adam Devine as Ed, alongside Zazie Beetz, Ken Jeong, Jim Jefferies, and Catherine O'Hara. The production was a collaboration between companies in the United Kingdom, Canada, China, and the United States, involving a credited crew of 125 people and a cast of 27.

The film received mixed reactions from viewers and professionals. It holds a rating of 6.2/10 on TMDB based on 191 votes, while film critics gave it a lower score of 4.8/10 across 7 reviews.
