Short description
A young art teacher hopes to be transfered to Istanbul after completing his mandatory duty in a remote village school in Anatolia. After accusations of innapropriate contact with a student surface, his hopes of escape fade and he descends further into an existential crisis.
What's left behind the scenes
- The plot is based on entries from Akin Aksu's diary, which he kept while working in Anatolia.
- Writing the script took Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Ebru Ceylan, and Akin Aksu almost a year. The script turned out to be very long, twice as long as the script for the drama 'Winter Sleep' (2014), which had 285 pages. Director Nuri Bilge Ceylan filmed everything according to the script, and made the necessary cuts to the film during the editing process.
