Wolf

Jacob believes he is a wolf living inside a human body, and his family's alarm at his behaviour leads them to place him in a clinic. There he and other patients who identify as animals are put through increasingly extreme forms of so-called curative therapy under the direction of a figure known as The Zookeeper. Jacob finds relief from the regime in the company of Wildcat, a fellow patient he meets at night, and what begins as an unlikely friendship turns into infatuation, leaving him to weigh his sense of himself against the bond he has formed.

The film is a drama directed and written by Nathalie Biancheri, produced by Jane Doolan and Jessie Fisk, and made as a co-production between the United Kingdom, Ireland, Poland and France. George MacKay plays Jacob and Lily-Rose Depp plays Wildcat, with Paddy Considine as The Zookeeper and Eileen Walsh as Dr. Angeli. Supporting roles include Fionn O'Shea as German Shepherd and Lola Petticrew as Parrot. It runs 100 minutes and was released in December 2021.

Audience response has been muted: on IMDb it holds a rating of 5.1 from roughly 13,000 votes, and on TMDB a rating of 5.3 from about 95 votes. The larger IMDb sample points to a generally lukewarm reception, and the two audience scores sit close together.
