The Island

A doctor named Robinson chooses to live in solitude on a Mediterranean island. His isolation is disrupted when the land is occupied by guards, NGO workers, and migrants. Among them is Friday, the sole survivor of a shipwreck occurring during a voyage from Africa to Italy. To cope with his loneliness, Robinson keeps a diary that functions as augmented reality, populating his daily existence with unsettling and extraordinary beings.
