Short description
The ghosts of thieves help a beautiful young countess save her inherited castle from modern developers in this comic horror/musical.
What's left behind the scenes
- The film is based on the fairy tales of Wilhelm Hauff.
- The film was restored at the Gorky Film Studio in 1985. Following this restoration, the film returned to Soviet distribution in black and white.
- In Soviet distribution, the film was edited for censorship reasons: at the end of the film, during the ghosts' rocket flight to the Moon, a scene showing a Soviet rocket being overtaken by the ghosts was cut. However, this scene had originally been dubbed at the Soyuzmultfilm studio, and the full film was occasionally shown in cinemas.
