The Mimic

Based on a true story, this comedy follows a man who begins working for a local newspaper and forms a bond with a young neighbor. Convinced that the boy is a sociopath, the protagonist becomes obsessed with exposing the youth's true nature. He takes drastic measures to investigate, but a series of disturbing encounters leads him to a conclusion that differs from his initial suspicions.

The film was written and directed by Thomas F. Mazziotti and produced by Benjamin Cox. The cast features Thomas Sadoski as the narrator and Jake Robinson as the kid, with supporting roles played by Austin Pendleton, Gina Gershon, Marilu Henner, and Tammy Blanchard.
