Josep

Set in February 1939, this historical drama follows Spanish Republicans fleeing the dictatorship of Franco. Upon reaching France, the refugees are placed in concentration camps characterized by poor hygiene and a lack of food and water. The story focuses on the bond that develops between a guard and Josep Bartoli, an artist and antifascist fighter, who are separated by barbed wire. Bartoli's journey eventually leads him from Barcelona to New York and Mexico, where he meets the artist Frida Kahlo.
