My Heart Goes Boom!

Set in Spain during the 1970s, this comedy follows María, an aspiring dancer living under a repressive dictatorship characterized by censorship and violence. While the country is depicted as a grey and fearful place, María seeks personal liberation and strives to become a television star. Her journey toward this goal is accompanied by the pop music of the Italian performer Raffaella Carrà, as she resists the rigid rules imposed on television programming.

The film was directed by Nacho Álvarez, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside David Esteban Cubero and Eduardo Navarro. The production was a collaboration between the Spanish and Italian companies Tornasol Films and Indigo Film. The lead role of María was played by Ingrid García Jonsson, appearing alongside a cast that included Verónica Echegui, Fernando Guallar, Natalia Millán, Pedro Casablanc, and Fernando Tejero.
