Timestalker

Agnes keeps falling for the wrong man. Each time she does, she dies badly and is reborn roughly a century later, so that her search for love carries her across different places and periods. The pattern repeats, and she tries to recognize her mistake and stop it from happening again.

Alice Lowe directs from her own screenplay and also plays Agnes, the film's central role. Jacob Anderson appears as Scipio, with Nick Frost as George, Tanya Reynolds as Meg, Aneurin Barnard as Alex and Eleanor Barrett as Jennifer. The British production was made by BFI, Head Gear Films, Popcorn Group and Ffilm Cymru Wales, with Vaughan Sivell, Natan Stoessel and Tom Wood producing. Lowe's second feature as director, it follows Prevenge from 2017. The film mixes comedy, fantasy, romance and science fiction across its 89-minute running time.

Timestalker was released in October 2024. Its reception has been modest rather than enthusiastic: on IMDb it holds 5.5 out of 10 from around 3,500 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 5.3 out of 10 from a much smaller group of 46 votes. The two scores sit close together, suggesting a similar middling response from the audiences who have recorded an opinion, with no sign of a strong divide between the larger and smaller voting groups.
