Wolf Man

Blake, a married father living in San Francisco, inherits his childhood home in a remote part of rural Oregon after his father disappears and is presumed dead. With his marriage to Charlotte under strain, he talks her into leaving the city for a while and visiting the property together with their young daughter, Ginger. Their arrival at the farmhouse late at night goes wrong when an animal they cannot see attacks them, forcing the family to shut themselves inside while the creature circles the grounds. As the hours pass, Blake's behaviour turns strange and he begins changing into something no longer recognizable, leaving Charlotte to weigh the danger inside the house against the threat outside it.

Leigh Whannell directed and co-wrote the film with Corbett Tuck and Lauren Schuker Blum, and Jason Blum produced it. It is Whannell's fourth feature as director, following Insidious: Chapter 3, Upgrade and The Invisible Man, and it continues his work in horror. Christopher Abbott plays Blake, Julia Garner plays Charlotte, and Matilda Firth plays Ginger, with Sam Jaeger, Ben Prendergast and Zac Chandler in supporting roles.

The film was released in January 2025 and runs 103 minutes. Made for a budget of 25 million US dollars, it took in about 37 million dollars worldwide, a modest return. Reception was mixed: a critics' rating of 5.6 out of 10 from 283 reviews, with audiences giving 5.6 on IMDb from 43,000 votes and 6.1 on TMDB from 1,059 votes, showing viewers and critics largely agreed.
