One Good Cop

Artie Lewis is a New York City police officer who becomes the legal guardian of three daughters after his partner is killed during a police operation. As Lewis investigates the death, he discovers that his own life and his new family are in danger. To protect them and seek justice against the responsible crime lord, the previously law-abiding detective resorts to illegal methods and vigilante action.

Directed and written by Heywood Gould, this was the first of two films he directed. The movie stars Michael Keaton as Artie Lewis and Rene Russo as Rita Lewis, with Anthony LaPaglia appearing as Stevie Diroma. Produced by Laurence Mark for Silver Screen Partners IV and Hollywood Pictures, the production had a budget of 4 million USD.
