Return of Sabata is a Western starring Lee Van Cleef as Sabata, a former Confederate major who now earns a living as a sharpshooter in a travelling circus. His travels bring him to the Texas town of Hobsonville, where the residents are being squeezed by heavy taxes imposed by Joel McIntock, a businessman who claims the money is needed for public works. Sabata decides to stay and turn the town's finances against the man draining them. The film was directed by Gianfranco Parolini from a screenplay he wrote with Renato Izzo, produced by Alberto Grimaldi, and made as a co-production between Italy, Germany, France and Yugoslavia. It followed Sabata (1969) and Adiós, Sabata (1970) in Parolini's filmography. Reiner Schöne, Giampiero Albertini, Ignazio Spalla, Annabella Incontrera and Vassili Karis are among the principal cast. Released in September 1971, it runs 105 minutes. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.5 from around 2,500 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 5.9 from roughly 160 votes, indicating a modest level of interest rather than a widely celebrated entry in the genre.
