Le Banquet

Le Banquet is a French comedy that centers on a wedding celebration where the events quickly spiral out of control. Through a wordless, universal form of communication, the characters experience a chaotic series of emotional conflicts, reunions, and romantic tensions as their banquet falls apart.

Mathilda May directed the film, which followed her previous work on Open Space and Mr. X. The production was associated with Théâtre de Paris and featured Ariane Mourier. The project gained recognition at the Théâtre du Rond-Point and received two Molières awards in 2019, one for May's direction and another for Mourier as a female revelation. The film has a runtime of 83 minutes.
