Set in the 1920s, this adventure drama follows a strained relationship between Edgar Anscombe, a bitter mail pilot, and Tillie Hansen, the daughter of a wealthy banker. After Anscombe reluctantly agrees to fly Tillie to Idaho, their biplane crashes in a remote mountainous region. The two survivors must overcome their mutual dislike and face various dangers, including hungry wolves, to survive in the wilderness.
Directed by George T. Miller, this was the second film in his career, following The Man from Snowy River. The movie features Christopher Reeve and Rosanna Arquette in the lead roles, with a supporting cast that includes Jack Warden, Sam Wanamaker, Scott Wilson, and Tyne Daly. The screenplay was written by Ernest K. Gann and Marc Norman, and the film was produced by Mace Neufeld and Thomas H. Brodek through Mace Neufeld Productions.
The film earned 1 million USD at the worldwide box office. Audience reception was mixed, with a rating of 5.6/10 based on 1,700 votes on IMDb and a rating of 5.7/10 from 39 votes on TMDB.
