Rival

A young boy named Roman and his mother, Oksana, travel from Ukraine to Germany. Oksana finds illegal employment living and working with Gert, an elderly widower. Roman struggles to maintain his mother's attention and views the older man as a rival. As the boy and the man attempt to find common ground, a sudden medical crisis leaves Roman alone with the man, leading to a desperate situation when the widower passes away and Roman becomes trapped with the body.

This drama was directed by Marcus Lenz, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Lars Hubrich.
