Superwho?
Short description
Cédric is an aspiring actor who has struggled to find success until he lands the lead role in a production featuring a superhero called Badman. While preparing for the project, he is involved in a car accident that results in memory loss. Awakening in his costume and surrounded by movie props, Cédric becomes convinced that he is actually the superhero character and believes he must complete a perilous mission.
The film was directed by Philippe Lacheau, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Julien Arruti and Pierre Lacheau. This project is the fifth film Lacheau has directed, following City Hunter and preceding Alibi.com 2. Philippe Lacheau stars as Cédric, appearing alongside Julien Arruti, Tarek Boudali, Elodie Fontan, Alice Dufour, and Jean-Hugues Anglade. The production involved a credited cast of 45 people and was produced by several companies, including StudioCanal and Canal+, in France and Belgium.
Released in 2022, this action comedy for families earned 7 million USD at the worldwide box office. Audience reception is consistent across different platforms, as the film holds a 6.3 rating on IMDb from 4,600 votes and a 6.3 rating on TMDB from 578 votes.
What's left behind the scenes
- The film was shot in the summer of 2021, so the heat made the director and lead actor, Filipp Lasho, strongly dislike filming in full costume. During filming, chilled suede was even placed inside the costume for him.
- Shortly before filming began, Filipp Lasho was playing football with friends and injured his leg, so all the scenes where his character had to walk or run were left until the very end of the shooting period.
