Kon Kon

Kon Kon is a documentary in which Cecilia Vicuña returns to Con Con, the coastal place in Chile where her art began. There she finds a sea in decline and a longstanding local tradition under threat. The film is conceived as a documentary poem, moving between the personal significance of the place and the losses it now faces.

Vicuña directed the film and wrote it, with Pilar Polanco producing, and it runs 54 minutes. The film was made between the United States and Chile and was released in November 2010. It forms part of Vicuña's work as both an artist and a filmmaker, turning her attention back to the origins of her practice rather than documenting a setting at a distance. No ratings or box office figures are recorded for the title.
