The Specialists

A skilled gunman returns to the town of Blackstone to seek revenge after his brother was killed by a lynch mob. While investigating the death, the protagonist discovers his brother was accused of stealing bank funds that never reached their destination. As the townspeople grow fearful of the visitor, he forms an uneasy alliance with a Mexican bandit leader to uncover the truth behind the theft and locate the missing gold.

Directed by Sergio Corbucci, this 1969 Western is the eighth of 14 films in the director's career, following The Mercenary and preceding Compañeros. The screenplay was written by Corbucci and Sabatino Ciuffini. The film stars Johnny Hallyday as Hud, with a supporting cast that includes Sylvie Fennec, Mario Adorf, Françoise Fabian, Gastone Moschin, and Serge Marquand. It was a joint production between companies in Italy, France, and Germany.
