Shotgun Wedding

Shotgun Wedding follows Darcy and Tom, who bring their families together for a destination wedding. Between the guests' quarrels, the arrival of Darcy's ex, and the couple's own doubts about going through with it, the celebration is already strained. Then criminals storm the proceedings and take the wedding party hostage, leaving Darcy and Tom to rescue their loved ones while trying not to turn on each other.

Jason Moore directed the film, the third feature in his filmography after Pitch Perfect and Sisters. Mark Hammer wrote the screenplay, and Jennifer Lopez, David Hoberman and Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas produced. Lopez and Josh Duhamel star as Darcy and Tom, with Lenny Kravitz as Sean Hawkins, Jennifer Coolidge as Carol Fowler, Sônia Braga as Renata Ortiz and Cheech Marin as Robert Rivera among the large ensemble.

Released in December 2022 and running 101 minutes, the American production from Nuyorican Productions and Mandeville Films combines action, comedy and romance. By the numbers, its theatrical footprint was modest: the worldwide box office came to about four million dollars. Reception was middling across the board, with critics and audiences landing in similar territory. On IMDb, the film holds 5.5 out of 10 from roughly 42,000 votes, while TMDB users give it 6.2 out of 10 from about 1,300 votes, and the critics' rating stands at 5.1 out of 10 from 117 reviews.
