Beast

Beast follows Dr. Nate Daniels, a recently widowed father who returns to South Africa with his two teenage daughters, Meredith and Norah, to the place where he first met his late wife. The trip takes them to a game reserve run by Martin Battles, an old family friend and wildlife biologist, and it is meant to give the family time to work through their loss. Their stay turns into a struggle to survive when a lion begins hunting them, and Nate is forced to fight for himself and his daughters in the wild.

Baltasar Kormákur directed the film, which came after Adrift in his filmography and before Touch and Apex. Ryan Engle wrote the screenplay, and Will Packer, James Lopez and Kormákur produced it. Idris Elba stars as Nate, with Leah Sava Jeffries and Iyana Halley as his daughters, Sharlto Copley as Martin Battles, and Martin Munro and Liyabuya Gongo in supporting roles.
