I Laugh Because I Love You

Leopoldo and Amanda shared a childhood vow of eternal love that led them toward marriage decades later. While Leopoldo became a successful pastry chef, Amanda worked as a dance instructor after setting aside her aspirations to be a ballerina. Their relationship faces a crisis a week before their wedding when Amanda is offered a professional opportunity with the Paris Opera. Rather than supporting her move to France, Leopoldo calls off the wedding, leaving her to go alone. After realizing he betrayed their early promise and failed her, Leopoldo seeks a way to win her back.

This Italian comedy was directed by Paolo Ruffini, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Francesca Romana Massaro and Nicola Nocella.
