Short description
Two unmarried women who have become pregnant by accident and are about to give birth meet in a hospital room: Janis, in her late-thirties, unrepentant and happy; Ana, a teenager, remorseful and frightened.
What's left behind the scenes
- A poster for the film 'Parallel Mothers' already appeared in one scene of Pedro Almodóvar's 2009 drama 'Broken Embraces'. Almodóvar was already working on its script at the time and had the poster printed.
- The photograph mentioned by Penélope Cruz's character, depicting her mother and herself as a child on Ibiza, was taken by Spanish photographer Oriol Maspons (1928-2013). The image shown on screen was indeed taken on Ibiza in the summer of 1976.
