Redemption Day

Redemption Day follows Brad Paxton, a decorated U.S. Marine captain who has returned home struggling to adjust to civilian life after his time in combat. When his wife Kate, an archaeologist, takes a career opportunity in Morocco, she is abducted by a terrorist group demanding a ten-million-dollar ransom. With negotiations halted by the American ambassador, Brad travels to Morocco and draws on his military training for a dangerous rescue attempt. Gary Dourdan plays Brad, Serinda Swan plays Kate, and Andy García appears as Ambassador Williams, with Ernie Hudson and Martin Donovan also in the cast.

The film is the directorial debut of Hicham Hajji, who also co-wrote the screenplay and produced it, and who went on to direct The Lost Princess in 2025. It was made by Voltage Pictures, Buffalo 8 Productions, H Films and Redemption Films, with Morocco and the United States among its production countries. The credited cast numbers 33 and the credited crew 57.

Released in January 2021, the film runs 100 minutes. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 10 from roughly 25,000 votes, while on TMDB its rating is 5.9 out of 10 from about 275 votes. A critics' rating of 3.4 out of 10 from 22 reviews places it below both audience scores. The wide gap in vote counts between the two audience platforms indicates a much larger viewership on IMDb.
