Dr. Goldfoot and the Girl Bombs follows the mad scientist Dr. Goldfoot as he sets out to seize control of the world. His method is to eliminate senior military figures of various nations, using life-sized female robots built in his secret laboratory; these beautiful androids are rigged to explode when embraced. Standing against him are two hapless Sicilian hotel porters, Franco and Ciccio, who are drawn into the affair, and Bill Dexter, a young agent working to expose the doctor's scheme.
The film was directed by Mario Bava, released in 1966 and set between Kill, Baby... Kill! and Danger: Diabolik in his filmography. It was written by Robert Kaufman and Louis M. Heyward, who also produced alongside Fulvio Lucisano for the Italian company Italian International Film. Vincent Price plays the dual roles of Dr. Goldfoot and General Willis, with Fabian as Bill Dexter, Franco Franchi and Ciccio Ingrassia as the comic pair, Francesco Mulè as Colonel Doug Benson, and Laura Antonelli as Rosanna. Twenty actors are credited.
The production had a budget of about two million dollars, a considerable sum for an Italian genre comedy of its time. Audience response has been muted: on IMDb the film holds a rating of 4.1 out of 10 from roughly 1,700 votes, and on TMDB it sits at 5 out of 10 from a much smaller base of 64 votes. The two figures point to a modest and largely negative reception among viewers.
