Unfinished Lives

This documentary follows the aftermath of the 2014 killing of Xinran Ji, a graduate student at the University of Southern California who was beaten to death by four teenagers while walking home from studying. The film focuses on attorney Rose Tsai, who worked to seek justice for the victim and provided legal support to his parents as they struggled to cope with the loss of their son.

Produced by the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, the 23-minute film was directed by Yucong Chen. The production team included producers Niuyue Kay Zhang and Shange Zhang. The film was released in the United States on October 26, 2020.
