Far Cry
Short description
Jack Carver, a former special forces soldier, is hired by journalist Valerie Cardinal to take her by boat to an island where her uncle Max works at a military facility. The trip quickly goes wrong when they are attacked and Jack's boat is destroyed, stranding him on the island. There he discovers that the installation is run by the sinister Dr. Krieger, who is conducting secret genetic experiments to create superhuman soldiers. To survive and get Valerie out, Jack has to fight his way through forces far stronger than ordinary men.
Directed by Uwe Boll, this 2008 action, science fiction and thriller is adapted from the video game series of the same name and was shot in Germany and Canada. It is the eighth of the twenty films Boll has directed in chronological order, following Postal and preceding Tunnel Rats, and he also produced it alongside Shawn Williamson from a screenplay by Michael Roesch and Peter Scheerer. Til Schweiger plays Jack, Emmanuelle Vaugier plays Valerie, and Udo Kier appears as Dr. Krieger, with Natalia Avelon, Don S. Davis and Ralf Moeller among a credited cast of 37.
