Werewolves Within

Werewolves Within is set in Beaverfield, a small northern town divided over a proposed pipeline. Finn Wheeler, a mild-mannered forest ranger newly assigned to the area, arrives to find the residents at odds with one another. A heavy snowstorm cuts the town off and knocks out its communications, and the death of a pet dog is followed by a power failure and the discovery of a body. Taking shelter together in the local guest house, the townspeople begin to suspect that one of them is responsible. A postal worker, Cecily Moore, is among the few Finn trusts, and the two try to keep the peace and work out what is killing people while fear and prejudice turn neighbour against neighbour. The creature, as the title indicates, is a werewolf, and the mystery of who among the group it is drives the story.

The film is a horror comedy directed by Josh Ruben, following his 2020 debut Scare Me and preceding Death to 2021, Heart Eyes and Heart Eyes 2. Mishna Wolff wrote the screenplay, and Sam Richardson, who plays Finn, is also credited as a producer alongside Benjamin Wiessner and Natalie Metzger. The cast includes Milana Vayntrub, George Basil, Sarah Burns, Michael Chernus and Catherine Curtin, with 112 crew credited. It was produced by Vanishing Angle and Ubisoft Film & Television on a budget of about 7 million dollars.

On IMDb it holds 6 out of 10 from roughly 24,000 votes, and on TMDB 6 out of 10 from several hundred. The critics' rating of 6.9 out of 10 from 149 reviews is somewhat higher than the audience scores.
