This documentary focuses on Delphine, a young woman from Cameroon. After experiencing childhood trauma and the loss of parental support, she turned to prostitution to provide for herself and her daughter. Seeking a more stable future, she married a Belgian man significantly older than herself and moved to Europe. However, seven years later, her circumstances worsened as her hopes for a better life proved unfounded. Through her personal story, the film examines the systemic challenges and social pressures facing young African women.
The film was directed and written by Rosine Mbakam, marking the first of two films she has directed as of 2024. Produced by Geoffroy Cernaix through Tândor Productions, the project is a joint production between Belgium and Cameroon. The movie has a runtime of 90 minutes.
